New for 2012, Bendigo Stayput is a short break in the heart of Central Victoria’s historic gold-field region. Our accommodation is at the newly renovated Bendigo Lake View Resort. The deluxe rooms are comfortable and stylish, with a resort pool and spa for your enjoyment as well as an excellent restaurant.
Day 1 (L,D) HOME, SUNBURY, KYNETON, BENDIGO
Following metropolitan home/hotel pick up (interstate passengers arrive day prior), we travel to Sunbury for morning tea before making our way to Kyneton. Lunch today is at the charming Bringalbit Country Retreat with its 10 acre garden dating back to the 19th Century. In the afternoon, we continue to Bendigo. Join the “Talking Tram” tour, enjoy the city sights and rich history of this wonderful town. A little free time prior to arriving at our accommodation for the next two nights, Lake View Resort.
Day 2 (B,L,D) MALDON, CASTLEMAINE, HARCOURT
This morning a tour highlight as we travel to Maldon to ride the Victorian Goldfields Steam Railway. Upon arrival in Castlemaine, our coach will be waiting to take us to the Botanical Gardens. Following lunch and a little free time to look around town, we visit Buda House and Garden. Not far from Castlemaine is Harcourt where we stop for a cuppa before returning to Lake View Resort.
Day 3 (B,L) BENDIGO, HEATHCOTE, KILMORE, HOME
Visit the Bendigo Pottery Interpretive Museum, with displays of equipment used over the years and products made at the pottery since 1858. Travel via the Northern Highway viewing Lake Eppalock on route to lunch at Heathcote, where we visit Court House Crafts. An afternoon cuppa in Kilmore on route to Melbourne arriving back at approximately 4.00pm. Metropolitan home/hotel/airport drop offs conclude a most enjoyable ultra short stayput holiday.
