Springtime in Western Australia

Day 1 (L,D) HOME, PERTH
A relaxing start to our holiday on arrival in Perth we transfer to our home for the next three nights, the Parmelia Hilton. A welcome drink and dinner together completes our first day.
Day 2 (B,L,D) PERTH, KINGS PARK, WESTERN AUSTRALIAN MUSEUM
Today we visit Kings Park with its spectacular displays of Western Australian wildflowers and native flora, incorporating the Botanic Gardens. Enjoy magnificent views of the city centre and the Swan River from the walkways. Following lunch at the gardens we visit the renowned Western Australian Museum, which has many outstanding displays and artefacts. Later some free time for shopping and maybe a stroll along Hay Street or Murray Street Malls.
Day 3 (B,L,D) PERTH, FREMANTLE
This morning we enjoy a scenic calm water cruise along the Swan River to Fremantle. Lunch at the bustling Fishing Boat Harbour a working port filled with cafes, restaurants and boardwalks which offers a unique insight into the enduring commercial fishing industry. During the afternoon we visit the Maritime Museum, home to Australia II, the America’s Cup winning yacht.
Day 4 (B,L,D) PERTH, GREENOUGH, GERALDTON
An earlier start as we join State Route 1 north, arriving into the fishing village of Port Denison for a later lunch. At nearby Greenough we view the restored heritage village before continuing to Geraldton. Some time to relax on arrival at our home for three nights, the Ocean Centre Hotel, situated on the Geraldton beachfront.
Day 5 (B,L,D) GERALDTON
We tour the Geraldton town area this morning including the impressive St Francis Xavier Cathedral. Take in the views from Mills Park Lookout and tour the recently completed HMAS Sydney Memorial. Later we stroll through Chapman River Regional Park, home to over 300 species of native flowering plants.
Day 6 (B,L,D) GERALDTON
Following a leisurely breakfast we enjoy some free time to explore some of the shops and galleries, including the Old Gaol and Craft Centre. During the afternoon we tour the Museum of Western Australia, which celebrates the heritage of the mid west region. We also pay a visit to the Geraldton Regional Art Gallery.
Day 7 (B,L,D) GERALDTON, NORTHAMPTON, KALBARRI
Today we head north along the Kalbarri Loop drive to Northampton, enjoying displays of wildflowers (not guaranteed)along the way. After lunch we visit Rainbow Jungle, a beautiful parrot habitat and free flying bird aviary. Our home for two nights is the Kalbarri Beach Resort.
Day 8 (B,L,D) KALBARRI NATIONAL PARK
A highlight is our we visit to Kalbarri National Park where the forces of nature have created spectacular formations along the Murchison River. It is wildflower season and we expect wildflowers to be present in abundance (subject to seasonal conditions).
Day 9 (B,L,D) KALBARRI, CERVANTES
A travel day as we make our way south along the coast via Dongara, Green Head and Jurien to Cervantes. This afternoon we visit the Pinnacles (some walking required), thousands of spectacular spires (shell deposits) scattered over the multi-coloured sands in Nambung National Park. Our home for tonight is the Cervantes Pinnacles Motel.
Day 10 (B,L) PERTH, HOME
Following breakfast we return to Perth Airport (lunch in-flight) with fond memories of our enjoyable Springtime adventure of Western Australia.
