Day 1 (L,D) HOME, SYDNEY
Following Melbourne metropolitan home/hotel pick up we transfer to Melbourne Airport for our morning flight to Sydney. Interstate passengers travel direct to Sydney or via Melbourne. We cross Sydney Harbour to visit Middle Harbour and Manly before arriving at our hotel for four nights, the Sebel Surry Hills.
Day 2 (B,L,D) CHINESE GARDEN, SYDNEY TOWER, QUEEN VICTORIA BUILDING
For a change of pace this morning, we escape to a tranquil oasis in the heart of the city at the Chinese Garden of Friendship. Take a journey through the winding pathways and experience the serenity of the garden’s traditional pavilions, lakes and waterfalls before venturing further afield on the iconic Monorail. We ride the Monorail as it glides quietly through Sydney giving us views over the city and Darling Harbour prior to enjoying the 360 degree views from Sydney Tower, ranked as one of the safest buildings in the world. Lunch today at the historic Queen Victoria Building. Free time this afternoon to explore the city or browse in the myriad of shops and boutiques before returning to the Sebel.
Day 3 (B,L,D) RIVERBOAT POSTMAN CRUISE
A short drive along the Sydney – Newcastle Freeway this morning to Brooklyn and the Hawkesbury River system. Join Australia’s last riverboat postman as he delivers mail to some of the river residents and enjoy cruising on the extensive Hawkesbury River inlets. Smorgasbord luncheon as we cruise. During the afternoon we return to Sydney via the beautiful northern beaches. Enjoy the scenery, take a photo, watch the windsurfers. Afternoon tea on route.
Day 4 (B,L,D) BLUE MOUNTAINS
This morning we travel to Katoomba in the Blue Mountains with spectacular scenery and views. Follow Cliff Drive along the escarpment, visit the incredible Three Sisters. Lunch today at Leura’s Everglades House and Garden, a 1930’s residence set on 12.5 acres of one of Australia’s great heritage gardens designed by Paul Sorenson, with stunning mountain views. Afternoon tea on route back to Sydney.
Day 5 (B,L,D) ELIZABETH BAY HOUSE, SYDNEY HARBOUR CRUISE
A relaxing morning as we visit Mrs Macquarie’s Chair and the Botanic Gardens, then the stately Elizabeth Bay House, with lunch at Vaucluse House. Later in the day we join Captain Cook Cruise’s luxury cruiser, MV Captain Cook Explorer for a magical weekend cruising the magnificent Sydney Harbour and waterways. Dinner tonight with the spectacular backdrop of the city lights, Opera House and Harbour Bridge.
Day 6 (B,L,D) SYDNEY HARBOUR CRUISE
For the early risers, a walk around the Opera House and Botanical Gardens, followed by a leisurely cruise on the upper reaches of the Parramatta and Lane Cove Rivers. During the afternoon you may wish to go ashore and explore the historic Rocks area. Fine dining and live music complete a beautiful day on the harbour.
Day 7 (B,L) SYDNEY HARBOUR CRUISE, SYDNEY, HOME
Early risers may choose a morning walk around the ruins of the old fort complex, set in bushland, at Bradleys Head, built in 1840 to defend Sydney Harbour. Later we cruise along the Eastern suburbs shoreline to Watsons Bay. Time for a walk ashore before an al fresco luncheon on the top deck. Following lunch we return to Circular Quay. A late afternoon flight to Melbourne. Interstate passengers fly direct to home state. For Melbourne passengers metropolitan home/hotel transfers complete an enjoyable Sydney and harbour cruise holiday.
