Tasmanian Craft Fair: From a small beginning over 30 years ago Deloraine Rotary Club’s craft fair has grown into one of Australia’s leading craft shows with over 200 exhibitors. Now held in fourteen venues, visitors are transported by shuttle coaches or may choose to walk between venues. Wood carvings, hand blown glassware, lead lighting, oil and water colour paintings, pottery, candle making, leather work and embroidery are just a few of the crafts you will enjoy at this fair.

Day 1 (L,D) HOME, LAUNCESTON

Following metropolitan home/hotel pick up we transfer to Melbourne Airport for the short flight to Launceston. Passengers from other states may fly direct to Launceston or via Melbourne. Lunch on arrival. Visit Entally House, enjoy afternoon tea and a guided tour prior to arriving at our home for four nights, the Sebel, Launceston.

Day 2 (B,L,D) TASMANIAN CRAFT FAIR

Today we visit the 32nd Tasmanian Craft Fair. A leisurely day visit with time to explore many of the displays and stalls. Lunch at the fair. Later visit Yarns Artwork in Silk.

Day 3 (B,L,D) TASMANIAN OPEN GARDENS

A garden lover’s delight as we visit three private gardens. Enjoy the garden and morning tea at the Dorset Museum and Gardens, followed by a visit to Waihemo Gardens. Lunch today at Scottsdale Art Gallery Café before visiting Hillside Cottage. We return to Launceston via Pipers Brook Winery.

Day 4 (B,L,D) TAMAR VALLEY

Today we enjoy a tour of the Tamar Valley. We call at the Swiss village of Grindelwald on route to Beaconsfield where we visit Beaconsfield Mine and Heritage Museum. We continue to Beauty Point for lunch then visit Platypus House.

Day 5 (B,L) LAUNCESTON

A morning visit to the beautiful Woolmers Estate. Take a guided tour and stroll in the National Rose Garden prior to a light lunch in the servant’s quarters. This afternoon we return to Launceston for a scenic chairlift ride at Cataract Gorge, followed by a leisurely cruise into the gorge. Afternoon tea in the parkland of People’s Park.

Day 6 (B,L) LAUNCESTON, HOME
This morning we visit the Tasmanian Gourmet Sauce Company, where we can sample delightful local sauces, conserves and condiments. We enjoy morning tea in the Ericvale Open garden and Topiary nursery prior to transferring to Launceston Airport for our flight home. Our flight arrives in Melbourne mid-afternoon. Interstate passengers may fly direct to their home state, or via Melbourne. Metropolitan home/hotel transfers complete a most enjoyable short holiday in Northern Tasmania.
