Fiji – Escape to Paradise Cruise

Day 1 (L,D) HOME, NADI, PORT DENARAU
Our adventure begins as we fly to Nadi on Viti Levu, gateway to Fiji and her islands. On arrival we transfer to the Port Denarau Marina and our hotel, The Palms, Denarau. Some time to relax at the resort before dinner.
Day 2 (B,L,D) MODRIKI ISLAND
A leisurely morning to explore the Marina before we board the Fiji Princess, departing for the Yasawa Islands. The first overnight anchorage is in a gorgeous secluded location at Modriki Island. Drinks and nibbles as we enjoy the sunset followed by the Captain’s Welcome dinner, entertainment provided by the talented crew!
Day 3 (B,L,D) SOSO BAY
There is time to step ashore and enjoy a swim or wander along the beach in the morning. After lunch we visit the chiefly village of Soso – an exceptional example of a current day Fijian island village. Enjoy a traditional Thali dinner which features exquisite Indian dishes.
Day 4 (B,L,D) NAUKACUVU ISLAND
Sunday is a day of rest in Fiji. After breakfast there is a special opportunity to attend a village church service. We cruise south to the beautiful Naukacuvu and Narara Islands as you enjoy a traditional Sunday roast lunch. This afternoon if you wish, join a Fijian cooking lesson with the Chef. Dinner is a range of Fijian and European dishes. Bingo ‘Fiji style’ is offered after dinner.
Day 5 (B,L,D) SACRED ISLANDS
We wind our way between the reefs into the central lagoon, surrounded by The Sacred Islands (Vanua Levu and Navadra Island). The scenery is breathtaking. Spend the remainder of the day relaxing. Fiji style high tea (dinner) is served following a cooking lesson on how to make ‘Roti in Lolo’.
Day 6 (B,L,D) BLUE LAGOON
Our destination is the famed Blue Lagoon. This superb stretch of water is ringed by islands and on one of those islands is Blue Lagoon Cruises very own private island peninsula. Check out the stunning azure water. Watch as the crew position the vessel right up to the beach and tie her off to the coconut trees! A very special night enjoying a traditional Lovo meal cooked underground. Dine on the beach under the coconut palms and the tropical stars. The evening will continue with Fijian meke, singing, dancing and storytelling by local villagers.
Day 7 (B,L,D) SAWA-I-LAU ISLAND
Join an easy guided island walk with panoramic views and visit an island style cake shop. Time to browse the shell market, perhaps try your hand at basket weaving. Lunch is served on board as we cruise north into the amazing Sawa-i-Lau caves. The village of Tamasua welcomes us to a Yaqona ceremony, and enjoy a village style “feast” prepared and cooked by the local women.
Day 8 (B,L,D) DRAWAQA ISLAND
Cruise to Drawaqa Island where our Marine Biologist joins us for a presentation about the local marine life and the volunteer conservation work carried out in the area. You have the opportunity to snorkel with the magnificent manta rays, if you wish. Alternatively visit the local island school to view the work of the Vinaka Fiji Volunteers. Dinner this evening is a barbecue served under the stars!
Day 9 (B,L,D) PORT DENARAU
Enjoy breakfast as we cruise back toward Port Denarau. Along the way you will be serenaded with a traditional Isa Lei farewell song by the crew, as our exploration of these gorgeous islands comes to an end. We return to The Palms Denarau and enjoy our final night together in beautiful Fiji.
Day 10 (B,L) PORT DENARAU, HOME
Departing our hotel we enjoy an early lunch at the Marina prior to returning to Nadi Airport for our flights home completing a magical holiday to one of the South Pacific’s most beautiful tropical locations.
