Day 1 (L,D) HOME, NEWCASTLE, KURRI KURRI, POLKOLBIN

Today we fly to Newcastle to begin our relaxing holiday. We travel to Kurri Kurri, view the amazing murals that are located throughout the township. Onto Polkolbin in the Hunter Valley and our home for five nights Harrigan’s Irish Pub, located adjacent to the famous Hunter Valley Gardens.
Day 2 (B,L,D) HUNTER VALLEY GARDENS, CESSNOCK, HUNTER VALLEY CHEESE FACTORY
A later start today as we spend a leisurely day exploring the Hunter Valley Gardens, Australia’s largest garden display spanning 25 hectares. Stroll amongst the displays, take in the superb views from the lookout, sit and ponder at the 10 metre high waterfall at the Sunken Garden or step back in time at Storybook Garden. This afternoon we visit Cessnock and the Hunter Valley Cheese Factory.
Day 3 (B,L,D) HUNTER VALLEY ZOO, SINGLETON
An enjoyable morning for nature lovers as we visit the Hunter Valley Zoo. Wander through the interactive enclosures where you can feed the animals, take plenty of photos and even cuddle a koala or two. We then make our way to Singleton for a visit to the Australian Army Infantry Museum, the custodian of the Infantry Corp’s customs and traditions. Our day concludes with a guided tour of the Convent of Mercy, established in 1909 by the Sisters of Mercy.
Day 4 (B,L,D) POKOLBIN, MAITLAND, MORPETH
Another leisurely start today, with some time to explore the village shops adjacent to our hotel. We then visit a local winery and enjoy lunch (wine tastings also if you wish). This afternoon we take a leisurely drive to Maitland and Morpeth, a quaint village with a rich history as a former river port. We take some time to explore the village and view some of the heritage buildings that date back to the early 1800’s.
Day 5 (B,L,D) NEWCASTLE HARBOUR CRUISE , NEWCASTLE TALKING TRAM TOUR
We return to Newcastle, where we spend an enjoyable morning cruising Newcastle Harbour. Take in the wonderful views along the foreshore and headlands as we cruise. Following lunch we take a ride with a difference on the famous Newcastle Tram as it rumbles past the major attractions of central Newcastle and along the waterfront.
Day 6 (B,L) FIGHTERWORLD, NEWCASTLE, HOME
This morning following breakfast we return to Newcastle Airport, also home to the Williamtown RAAF base. At Fighterworld Aviation Museum, adjacent to the airport we view the comprehensive display of the history of the Royal Australian Air Force. Following lunch, it is fond farewells before we board our homebound flights, completing our enjoyable holiday in this beautiful region of Australia.
