Day 3 (B,L,D) JINDABYNE, MT KOSCIUSKO
This morning we take a drive to Perisher Valley and Charlotte Pass on the highest public road in Australia. Great mountain vistas and views (subject to weather) of Mt Kosciuszko from a nearby boardwalk and lookout (few steps involved to reach the top lookout.) On to Cooma, centre of the Snowy Mountain scheme, for lunch. Visit the Avenue of Flags, Snowy Hydro Education Centre, Centennial Park and Nanny Goat Hill.

Day 4 (B,L,D) JINDABYNE, LAKES ENTRANCE
Today we journey along a route, not known to many tourists, which follows the Great Dividing Range and the path of the Snowy River from close to its source to Willis on the Victorian/NSW border. Magnificent scenery as we descend to the river plain travelling along the Barry Way. The road passes through unspoilt wilderness in the Australian Alps – majestic mountains and picturesque scenery. Descend into the Snowy River Valley with morning tea at Willis Picnic Area on the banks of the Snowy. At the NSW/VIC border the Barry Way becomes the Snowy River Road and continues southward into Gippsland. Visit the tiny bark and timber school at Suggan Buggan, then descend through fertile cattle grazing properties to Gelantipy. Lunch today at Buchan. Later we continue to Lakes Entrance for two nights at the Banjo Paterson Motor Inn.

Day 5 (B,L,D) LAKES ENTRANCE, METUNG
A day in Lakes Entrance. Some free time to enjoy a walk along the Esplanade or across the footbridge to the ocean beach. Later in the morning a cruise on the North Arm to the Wyanga Winery, our luncheon destination. An afternoon drive to Metung completes an easy relaxing “non travel” day.

Day 6 (B,L,D) LAKES ENTRANCE, OMEO, BRIGHT, BEECHWORTH, WANGARATTA
Today the scenery is again stunning and spectacular as we drive the Great Alpine Road from Lakes Entrance north over the Great Divide, passing through cattle grazing country as we journey to Swifts Creek and the historic gold mining village of Omeo. On to Dinner Plain and Hotham Heights, with some of Australia’s best mountain scenery along the way and lunch in Bright. Time to browse or take a leisurely walk in Bright. On to Beechworth and Wangaratta. Home tonight, The Quality Gateway Motor Inn.
