GILBERT AND SULLIVAN in the Caves

Day 1 (L,D) MELBOURNE, KING ISLAND, MOUNT GAMBIER
Depart Essendon Airport at 9.00 am by high wing Fokker 50 aircraft to King Island.
Meet your local knowledgeable guide who is ready to show you some of the scenic highlights and remarkable life on King Island.
Since 1976, King Island has produced over 80,000 tonnes of dried Bull Kelp that is exported to Scotland and Norway. Tour the interesting kelp harvesting centre.
On to picturesque Currie Harbour and its quaint boathouse, a fine BBQ lunch here featuring local produce.
In the afternoon visit the award winning King Island Dairy – taste a large variety of tempting cheeses, purchase if you wish.
Fly from King Island along the Great Ocean Road for a spectacular scenic flight before landing at Mount Gambier. Transfer to our home for the next two nights, Quality Inn Presidential.
Day 2 (B,L,D) COONAWARRA WINE REGION, GILBERT AND SULLIVAN IN THE CAVES
Visit the delightful township of Penola. Browse the various art and craft centres or visit the Mary MacKillop Interpretive Centre.
Enjoy a delicious lunch overlooking the picturesque vineyards at the award winning Hollick Winery.
Take your seats in Blanche Cave for Gilbert and Sullivan in the Caves featuring Opera Scholars Australia. The unique location and talented performers ensures a most memorable experience.
A celebratory dinner on return to Mount Gambier. A special appearance by the Opera Scholars completes a most memorable day of great music, food and wine.
Day 3 (B,L) MOUNT GAMBIER, MELBOURNE
Marvel at two of Mount Gambier’s truly unique, natural attractions, the amazing Blue Lake and the magical gardens of the Umpherston Sinkhole.
Following a relaxed farewell lunch, tour the stunning pink and brown limestone formations in the easily accessible underground chamber of the Tantanoola Conservation Park.
Return to Mount Gambier where our Fokker 50 awaits for the return flight to Essendon. Refreshments from the bar as we fly, completes a marvellous weekend of fine food, wine and music.
