Day 1 (L,D) HOME, SYDNEY
Morning flights bring us to Sydney and on arrival we transfer to the Pavilion Restaurant for lunch, which offers a leafy outlook over the Royal Botanic Gardens. A relaxed afternoon as we browse the various exhibitions and collections at the Art Gallery of NSW, one of Australia’s leading Art Museums. Our home for the next three nights is the Rydges Sydney Central Hotel in Surry Hills.
Day 2 (B,L,D) RIVERBOAT POSTMAN CRUISE
A short drive through Sydney’s north brings us to Brooklyn and the Hawkesbury River system. We join Australia’s last riverboat postman as he delivers mail to some of the river residents and enjoy cruising on the extensive Hawkesbury River inlets. Lunch is served as we cruise. During the afternoon we return to Sydney via the beautiful northern beaches, with afternoon tea in Manly.
Day 3 (B,L,D) SYDNEY SIGHTS, CARMEN ON SYDNEY HARBOUR
This morning explore the vibrant Darling Harbour precinct including a visit to the Chinese Garden of Friendship. Later we board an iconic local Sydney Ferry for a scenic cruise to Circular Quay. Enjoy superb views as we cruise. A little time to relax or rest back at our hotel prior to an early dinner. We then depart for the highlight of our holiday, the Handa Opera production of Bizet’s Carmen. Enjoy Premium class seating as we watch the performance on an amazing floating stage, set against the stunning backdrop of the Opera House and Harbour Bridge. A performance sure to be long remembered!
Day 4 (B,L) VAUCLUSE HOUSE, SYDNEY, HOME
Following a leisurely breakfast we depart for Vaucluse House, an historic 19th century Estate. We tour the house and its extensive picturesque gardens. A delightful high tea here in the quaint tea rooms before we return to Sydney Airport, bidding fond farewells as we join our home bound flights.
