Tulip Time and Canberra Floriade

Day 1 (L,D) HOME, WOLLONGONG, BOWRAL
Our delightful floral getaway begins on arrival in Sydney where we meet for a late lunch. During the afternoon we journey south towards Wollongong, travelling along a section of Grand Pacific Drive including the spectacular Sea Cliff Bridge. Take a stroll through the Wollongong Botanic Gardens before continuing inland towards the Southern Highlands and our home for the next four nights, Peppers Manor House.
Day 2 (B,L,D) TULIP TIME, OPEN GARDEN VISIT, BRADMAN MUSEUM
Bowral is home to many historic estates and mansions and was once a retreat for Sydney’s elite. It is also home to the annual Tulip Time Festival. This morning we view the hub of the festival at Corbett Gardens, featuring the festival’s showpiece, over 100,000 tulips and 25,000 annuals. Stunning scenery! Following lunch we visit a local open garden and tour the Bradman Museum at the International Cricket Hall of Fame and learn of the “Don’s” early years in Bowral.
Day 3 (B,L,D) THIRLMERE, CAMDEN
Once a booming township of tents housing the railway workers that constructed the Great Southern Railway, Thirlmere Station is now a heritage precinct. We tour the station and exhibits and learn how the railways brought life to NSW’s rural townships. At nearby Camden we visit convict built Belgenny Farm, famous home of agricultural pioneers, Elizabeth and John Macarthur.
Day 4 (B,L,D) BOWRAL, ILLAWARRA FLY
A leisurely morning spent at the Bowral Art Gallery and the Milk Factory Gallery. Also enjoy some time to browse Bong Bong Street. After lunch we travel to the Illawarra Fly Treetop Walk, one of only a handful of elevated treetop walks in the world. The gentle walk above the rainforest canopy offers an immersive experience and stunning views out to the Pacific Ocean. A true highlight!
Day 5 (B,L,D) CANBERRA FLORIADE
Arriving in Canberra for an earlier lunch we then spend the afternoon at Floriade, a spectacular floral event. Time to stroll at your pace through the Floriade Gardens, showcasing one million flowers in bloom and stunning floral exhibits. A real highlight. Our home for this evening is the Burbury Hotel.
Day 6 (B,L) CANBERRA, HOME
Just a short drive outside of Canberra takes us to the Tulip Top Gardens. This 10 acre garden of magnificent tulips and other spring flowers creates a spectacular display. Following our farewell lunch here our delightful holiday draws to a close as we transfer to Canberra airport to join home bound flights.
