Day 1 (L,D) MELBOURNE, MORNINGTON PENINSULA
Our Mornington Peninsula getaway begins as we travel to the charming Royal Botanic Gardens in Cranbourne where we stop for morning tea and a stroll. We arrive at our home for the next four nights, One Four Nelson, Rye.
Day 2 (B,L,D) POINT NEPEAN, PORTSEA, SORRENTO
This morning we explore the western tip of the peninsula at Point Nepean, one of Victoria’s beautiful natural landscapes. Opened to the public in December 1988, the area had previously been inaccessible for over 100 years. We also enjoy the scenic vistas of Sorrento and Portsea, lunch in one of these quaint townships. Some free time this afternoon in Rye on our return to our hotel.
Day 3 (B,L,D) DROMANA, HERONSWOOD, ARTHURS SEAT
Following a leisurely breakfast we take the short drive to Dromana. Time to stroll along the foreshore and pier prior to visiting Heronswood, a National Trust property and home to manicured gardens and magnificent sea views. Following lunch we visit nearby Arthurs Seat, a well-known and recognized landmark recently reopened after undergoing extensive renovations.
We board the Eagle Skylift for a scenic gondola ride to the summit which offers spectacular panoramic views across the Peninsula and Port Philip Bay.
Day 4 (B,L,D) CAPE SCHANCK, ASHCOMBE LAVENDER FARM
Today we venture to the eastern side of the peninsula, visiting the most southern point of the Peninsula, Cape Schanck, with its rugged and rocky outcrops. Enjoy a delightful lunch at the RACV Cape Schanck Resort with sweeping views of the resort and golf course. During the afternoon we explore the gardens at Ashcombe Lavender Farm. On our return we stop at the fascinating Gordon Studio Glassblowers.
Day 5 (B,L) BELEURA HOUSE, MELBOURNE
We begin our day at the Mornington Regional Gallery displaying local art and touring exhibitions. At Beleura House we tour the fascinating gardens and estate.
