New Year’s Eve in Inverloch

Day 1 (L,D) MELBOURNE, YARRAGON, KORUMBURRA, INVERLOCH
Our New Year getaway begins as we travel to Yarragon, a delightful town with many specialty shops and galleries. Morning tea and a little time to browse before we continue to Korumburra for a light lunch. A short visit at Coal Creek before driving along the beautiful hills of the Strzelecki Ranges to our destination for four nights, RACV Resort Inverloch.
Day 2 (B,L,D) CHURCHILL ISLAND, PHILLIP ISLAND
Today we visit Kilcunda Cliffs and Churchill Island with its historic working farm and original 1872 homestead. Visit the Koala Conservation Centre for an opportunity to get very close to wild koalas. Lunch at the Seal Centre Cafe at The Nobbies and then experience the “Antarctic Journey” an interactive virtual tour into the marvellous world and captivating landscape and stunning wildlife of the Southern Ocean and Antarctica. Marvel at a whale within arm’s reach or pat a penguin. We return to Inverloch via Cowes, Phillip Island’s main settlement.
Day 3 (B,L,D) NEW YEARS EVE, TARWIN LOWER, VENUS BAY, CAPE PATERSON
Visit Tarwin Lower and Venus Bay situated on a narrow peninsula of land, bordered on one side by the wild seas of Bass Strait and on the other by the calm waters of Anderson Inlet. Following a light lunch we enjoy the Bunurong Coastal Drive, a stunning 14 kilometre stretch of coastline between Cape Paterson and Inverloch. Magnificent scenery! A highlight tonight as we welcome the new year with a celebration at the Resort. Enjoy food, entertaining live music and the Resort’s very own fireworks display at midnight.
Day 4 (B,L,D) NEW YEAR’S DAY, WILSONS PROMONTORY NP
Happy New Year! A later start today as we experience the superb scenery at Wilsons Promontory National Park. Enjoy extensive coastal views on route to the most southern coastline on the Australian mainland. Take in the views before arriving at Tidal River where we visit the Information Centre. Later we enjoy a short stroll to Norman Bay and along the Loo Ern boardwalk.
Day 5 (B,L) LOCH, CALDERMEADE, MELBOURNE
This morning a scenic drive along Andersons Inlet Road to Loch, our morning tea stop. Time to enjoy the antique and craft shops, bric-a-brac stores, galleries, original buildings and colourful cottage gardens. Lunch at Caldermeade Farm and Café. Settled in 1875, Caldermeade was originally one of the region’s premier beef cattle properties. Today it is a modern, fully operational commercial dairy farm. We arrive in Melbourne mid afternoon completing a thoroughly relaxing New Year’s holiday in Inverloch.
